IRMGARD REITER


Irmgard Reiter is a registered Architect in Austria. Before she founded her office in Austria she was working in architectural offices in Europe, the US, Asia and South America. 

 

Her work in Austria focused on prefabricated timber construction and sustainability carried out in architectural offices holding awards for Sustainable Architecture and Low-energy Housing. 

Later she joined Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, in New York City. One of the largest and most influential architecture, interior design, engineering and urban planning firms in the world. Working on large scale projects such as residential towers, sports facilities and urban master planning. She played a key role implementing the Green high-rise condominium ‘Toren’ which received several awards for Residential Architecture and was honored for Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability.

 

After spending several years in the United States she relocated to Asia to work with the renowned chinese architectural practice MAD Architects in Beijing with a strong emphasis on sustainability and bridging eastern and western culture. Based in her expertise she was involved in large scale projects, including "Chongqing Urban Forest", "Taichung Convention Center" amongst others. Later on, while working with GRAFT Beijing her responsibilities involved design and implementation of retail and hospitality projects.


Irmgard Reiter was born in Austria and graduated from the Architectural University of Innsbruck with honors, “Summa Cum Laude“. Her thesis project is published in a Monograph “Ways through Art“. Her studio design and thesis projects have been shown in exhibitions by the Austrian Architectural Institute.

 

At Columbia University in New York City, she completed her studies with a Post Master Degree for Advanced Architectural Design. Her emphasis and main interest is the capacity of algorithmic design processes in combination with cutting edge technology to create sustainable architectural solutions for tomorrow's society.

 

After her extensive experience abroad she collaborated with Diego Perez and created a body of work under the name of "perezreiter".
